ALL EARS #21: Joshua Peters

Joshua MMB'10 #1-smlThe good news just keeps rolling in for Canadian violinist Joshua Peters. Already the current Doris McLellan and Eckhardt-Gramatté National Music Competition winner, Joshua’s just been awarded a violin from the Canada Council for the Arts Instrument Bank. I caught up with Joshua this past summer in Casalmaggiore. We discussed his musical development throughout his education, including his early start in Winnipeg and studies in Montréal and San Francisco. I also asked Joshua about the appeal of competitions and his personal goals for the 2015 E-Gré Winner’s Tour and beyond.

Throughout the month of November, Joshua will tour across Canada with pianist and collaborator Katherine Dowling. Complete concert listings are available here.

Other E-Gré Winners to appear on ALL EARS are violinist Carissa Klopoushak and vocalists Erica Iris Huang and Sarah Jo Kirsch.
